Christmas Tree Care

Are you thinking about getting a real tree or already purchased one?

Here are some helpful tips to keep your freshly cut tree looking its best this holiday season.

Select your tree
After selecting your tree, one of our staff will cut the base ensuring proper water absorption when it gets home. Drilling a hole in the bottom of your tree does NOT increase water absorption, neither does cutting the tree at a V angle. We will also gladly load it for you on your vehicle.

After getting your tree home

Choose and clear a location for the tree
It should be kept away from open flames or heat sources, which may dry it out prematurely.

Mount your tree within six hours of us cutting it
That is how long a fresh tree can go without water before absorption is jeopardized. A Christmas tree should always be mounted shortly after getting it.

Make sure the tree is straight
It is a good idea for at least two people to put up the tree, one holding it stable while the other fixes the base. Always stand back to check that the tree is straight before you get busy decorating it and placing water in the tree stand.

Water your tree
Check the water level regularly. Your freshly cut tree is likely to drink up to a full gallon of water or more, especially on the first day. Be sure to water your tree DAILY!
